Cal. . NSN. Bbl. 58 1/2" octagon to rnd. Has 3" flared oct. muzzle section. Oct. area at breech end is deeply fluted & carved. There are no visible proof marks. Chamfered brass, arched flint lock is fitted w/ iron serpentine cock & unbridled friction frizzen. Feather spring has bulbous finial text. Dense walnut stock extends to w/ in 3" of muzzle & is pinned to bbl. There are raised fields around lock & bbl. tang. Comb is fluted. Brass mounts include very heavy butt plate w/ 8" top tang, which is nailed to stock. Old brass trigger guard w/ scrolled grip is engraved & has pineapple finial. Hickory ramrod w/ bone tip is held by 3 beaded pipes & matching tail pipe w/ heavy brass addition as thimble. CONDITION: good. Iron parts are nearly all dark brown patina. Brass appears to be mostly new & toned to mustard brown. Stock retains nearly all foil finish w/ a number of scratches & a few losses along bbl. channel. Dark bore. Lock works.
