Cal. 69. NSN. American maple stocked fowler circa 1790, converted to percussion circa 1845. 69” overall, 53” barrel with commercial London proofs, brass furniture, wood ramrod with brass tip. Lock has light engraving and hammer to match, drum bolster, raised “beaver tail” molding around tang. CONDITION: very good overall, “as found”, trigger guard missing about 1” but well patinaed wood shows it was gone during time of use, old repair to butt plate from time of use with tiny copper screw to tail of buttplate tang, top of buttplate missing top screw and broken from unknown accident. Dark iron patina, hand worn wood patina. Mechanics fine, smooth clear bore. (01-21761/JS). ANTIQUE. $2,000-2,500.
