SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH STOCK/HOLSTER. Cal. 7.63mm. S# 917130. Bbl. 5 1/2". C96 Model 1930 Commercial semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Mauser. The top of the faceted breech is marked with Mauser's 3-line address, with a double crowned "U" commercial proof (repeated on top of bolt) marked on the left quarter flat. Left side of the frame is marked with a large Mauser banner logo, with "WAFFEN FRABRIK MAUSER/ OBERNDORFG A. NECKAR/ D.R.P.u.A.P." marked on the right. Metal components exhibit what can only be described as a near masterfully reapplied salt blue finish overall, with some small parts being polished in-the-white. Sub-frame appropriately exhibits a matte gray finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece reproduction grooved wood grips. Fixed blade front sight on stepped bbl., with V-notch tangent rear sight graduated 50-1000. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, sub-frame, floorplate, as well as the bbl. extension. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: proper unnumbered wood stock/holster, marked with the Mauser banner logo on the side. CONDITION: especially fine, with metal components retaining bountiful amounts of their professionally reapplied blue finish, with some superficial handling marks present overall. Front of frame and underside of floorplate exhibit light pitting beneath the bluing, with some spots of light pitting and minor dings present beneath the bluing overall. In-the-white parts show some spots/areas of age related discoloration. Bore is relatively bright, as refinished, exhibiting consistent mild pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show some scattered marks and impressions, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. Stock shows numerous marks and impressions from handling and storage, with a crack stemming from the mating face of the body, through the lid latch button to the screw. Lid appears to be a replacement. Lug iron has been refinished at one time, with the hinge blade exhibiting scattered spots of oxidation overall. A fantastically restored C96 Model 1930 Commercial pistol. (25-4241/MLW). CURIO. $1,500-2,500.
