QUEEN ANNE FLINTLOCK PISTOLS. Cal. 60. NSN. 11" Overall. 4 1/2" Four stage cannon bbls. marked "BUMFORD LONDON". John Bumford worked 1740-1775. Pistols mounted w/ unsupported serpentine cocks, bridled frizzens w/ integral brass pans mounted above sculptured frizzen springs attached rear of pan, each w/ flamed finials. Silver butt caps have Birmingham hallmarks. CONDITION: very good overall. Both guns appear original & complete. Markings all discernable w/ additions of more recent ID numbers stamped on top of each bbl. "1K-S460" & "2K-S460". Gun #2 has contemporarily pinned repair & crack of stock rear of cock. Iron has smooth gray/brown patina w/ scattered staining. Mechanically fine w/ smooth clear bores. (01-18445/JS). $6,000-8,000.
