Cal. 12 Ga., 2 3/4". S# 81905. Bbls. 30 3/8" w/ slightly raised matted rib has doll’s head extension. Tops of bbls. are engraved “Von Lengerke & Detmold” “U.S. Agents New York”. Bbl. flats are stamped w/ Belgian nitro proofs for 2 3/4" chambers & date stamp for 1924. Case hardened boxlock action features nonautomatic safety (“S” inlaid in gold), crossbolt 3rd fastener & dbl. triggers. Action is engraved w/ 80% coverage sm. open scroll w/ maker’s name & address along w/ “Patentee” on each side. Blued trigger guard has S# on tang. Lightly marbled European walnut pistol grip buttstock measures 14 1/2" over brown “White line” pad. Point pattern checkering is at grip & side panels have deeply inset shields of very closely spaced checkering surrounded by lightly carved borders. Matching splinter ejector forend has Anson release. MEASUREMENTS: BARRELS: Bore diameter: R .723 L .723. Restriction: R .030 (FULL) L .030 (FULL). Min. Wall Thickness: R .040 L .039. STOCK: LOP: 14 1/2". DAC: 1 5/8". DAH: 2 3/4". Cast: None. WEIGHT: 7 lb. 14 oz. CONDITION: good as refinished. Bbls. retaining most of an old reblue, engraving softened. Action recolored w/ heat & retaining most of that finish under heavy lacquer. Stocks w/ heavy varnish finish which has crazed on butt. Checkering lightly worn, finish has filled carving around checkering on side panels. Bores are fine, action is tight.
