SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 8mm Steyr. S# 35159. Bbl. 5 1/4". Model 1907 Roth-Steyr semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Steyr. Top of the solid bbl. rib is marked "WAFFENFABRIK STEYR". Right side of the frame is marked with the S#, with an Austrian 1910 acceptance proof "W-n (AUSTRIAN EAGLE) 10" stamped on the rear. Frame exhibits a blue finish overall, with the bolt, firing pin, and bbl. being polished in-the-white. Extractor and trigger exhibit a straw finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece grooved wood grips, with the right panel exhibiting an Austrian "22.LFH/ 22" unit mark, which appears to indicate issue to the Landwehr Feldhaubitzdivision (Howtizer Division). Dovetailed blade front sight, with fixed V-notch rear side of stripper clip feed lips. Matching numbers are present on the frame, as well as on the interior of the left sideplate. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray and brown patinas, as well as scattered spots of light to mild surface oxidation and pitting overall. Extractor retains good amounts of its original straw finish. Trigger retains scant traces of its original straw finish, with the balance exhibiting a gray patina. Bore exhibits moderate degrees of dark pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show some superficial marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (24-6854/MLW). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
