The B52 Stratofortress was designed and built by Boeing as a long-range, jet-powered, subsonic, strategic bomber. The bomber has been in the arsenal of the United States Air Force since 1955. It can carry up to 70,000 pounds of armaments and has an effective combat range of over 8,500 miles. This ejection seat is for the pilot of this immense aircraft to exit in case of an emergency and/or expected crash. It measures approx. 55" in height and 65" in length. This example has a tan canvas seat cushion and a red simulated leather headrest. The arms are terminated by two black and yellow actuating grips. The basic color is gray with various braided wire-protected hoses. A great conversation piece for a mancave or the aircraft enthusiast. CONDITION: the ejection seat is primarily intact but is possibly missing a few parts and a couple of hoses. It could use a good cleaning but would display quite well as the centerpiece of an aviation collection. (02-22821/BF). $1,500-2,200.
