1) Excelsior Model Percussion Pocket. Cal. 31. S# 12. 4" octagon bbl. with post front sight. Round 5 shot cylinder has 5 panel sporting scene roll engraving. Ball type loading lever latch. Frame has simple scroll hand engraving walnut 2pc grips. This revolver bears a strong resemblance to the Manhattan revolver. Bacon worked for Manhattan before starting his own company. Less than 1000 Excelsior Models were mfg. 1858-1867. CONDITION: faded gray metal shows small handling marks. Grips show wear & dents with an area of wood removal along the backstrap & a poor fit to the frame. Hammer does not hold properly at full cock. Dark bore has good rifling. 2) Removable Trigger Guard Pocket. Cal. 32 short RF. NSN. 4" octagon bbl. with dovetail mounted blade sight. Round 6 shot cylinder. Frame has a spray of scroll hand engraving. Blue finish. Square butt 2pc walnut grips. Estimated production of 300 in the early 1860s. Production was cut short due the Rollin White patent infringement lawsuit. CONDITION: faded gray metal shows spots of very light pitted. Grips show handling marks Sound action. Bore has good rifling showing spots of light pitting. (01-28864/DS). BOTH ANTIQUE. $1,200-1,700.
