FIELD GUN WITH EXTRA SKEET BARRELS & CASE. Cal. 12 Ga. 2-3/4". S# 2772S72 (1972). The 26-3/8" skeet & skeet marked barrels as well as 28" modified and full marked barrels are both ported and have narrow ventilated ribs set with two white beads. All correct Browning markings are on top barrels with Morgan Utah and Montreal PQ addresses. Both barrel sets have been threaded for choke tubes. Coin finished superposed action fitted with gold plated single selective trigger is engraved in usual Diana style. Five pheasant in open woods are rendered in semi-relief on left side and four ducks in marsh are on right. Two quail are on bottom of action and two hares are on trigger guard bow. These scenes are off set by attractive well cut large open acanthus scroll. Engraver's signature "C. Baerten" (Claude) is on the bottom of each bird scene on sides. Quail and hares are not signed. Long tang square knob buttstock made of an exceptionally fine piece of vividly fiddle figured American walnut measures 14-1/2"over brown Browning pad. Point pattern checkering wraps over grip. Target type flared forends match well as to color but not figure. MEASUREMENTS: STOCK: DAH: 1-7/8". DAC: 1-3/8"+. CAST: neutral. LOP: 14-1/2". WEIGHT: 8 lb. 1 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: gun and extra barrels are housed in Browning tan vinyl Hartmann case which contains cleaning cloth. CONDITION: metal and wood finishes are exceptionally fine with only a few handling and assembly marks. Bores are bright and shiny. Mechanically fine. Original chokes removed and barrels threaded for choke tubes only two of which are present in 28" barrels. Case is very fine with some light soiling. (24-2228/MGM). CURIO. $8,000-13,000.
