Cal. 50 RF. NSN. 7 Shot repeater. 1,002 Of this repeating carbine were made by Lamson & Co. of Windsor, VT & were delivered in May of 1865 following the secession of hostilities. This carbine has a 22" bbl. w/ flip-up dual rear sight. Case hardened action w/ saddle ring on left side has tubular magazine under forearm. Makers name & patent dates are on left side of action w/ housing for ejector mechanism. Lock plate forms rear right side of action. Walnut buttstock is fitted w/ carbine style steel buttplate & long forend is held by 1 split band & front cap/band. An illegible inspectors mark is on left side of buttstock behind saddle ring. CONDITION: very good. Bbl. retaining traces of blue under brown patina. Action retains about 30% original case hardening color. Stocks retain most of their original oil finish w / many scattered marks. Bore is bright & shiny. Action good. PROVENANCE: From the Collection of James B. Taylor. (01-20540/MGM).
