Cal. 32-40. S# 29460. Bbl. 30" tapered oct., fitted w/ scope blocks, modern buckhorn rear & hooded front sight adj. for windage. Case hardened action w/ Marlin information on left side fitted w/ nickel plated breech block w/ dbl. set triggers & ring operating lever w/ checkered walnut infill. A Vernier tang sight is installed. Shuetzen style buttstock of well figured & marbled American walnut fitted w/ nickel plated Swiss butt & has thick shadow line right hand cheekpiece. Horn grip cap is of sunburst style & grip is checkered. Matching forend w/ checkering at rear has inlet ebony tip & attaches to bbl. w/ a single screw (removal reveals a number of different forends might have been installed over time) & bbl. number matching action. There are two holes at rear where it is likely that a palm rest was installed. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 1 Box (20 rds.), 1 partial box (16 rds.) of Winchester John Wayne 32-40, 165 Gr. S. P. Ammo appears clean & serviceable. Box shows considerable wear but intact. CONDITION: bbl. retaining most of its original blue & action w/ most of its case color which has considerably faded & has scattered freckling. Stocks retain most of their original finish w/ added spray lacquer, checkering recut. Fine bore, shiny w/ sharp rifling. Mechanically good. (01-19852/MGM). ANTIQUE. $2,000-4,000.
