Cal. 410. S# 44170. Bbl. 12.25". The Harrington & Richardson (H&R) smooth bore Handy Gun was manufactured from the early 1920s through 1934. It is a small game gun that was commercially available in both .410 & 28Ga with barrels approximately 8" or 12.25". Though the exact number of Handy Guns manufactured is really unknown, it has been rumored that there were in excess of 25,000 produced. "Tiger Stripe" cyanide dipped, case hardened receiver. Brass bead front sight. Checkered wooden pistol grip & smooth fore grip. Single shot break action. Bbl. marked on top "MADE IN USA 410 GA CHOKE ". Classified an any other weapon (AOW) by the National Firearms Act. Transfers on a form 4 w/ a $5 tax or Form 3 to an SOT. CONDITION: case colors are bright and bold over the entire receiver. Bbl. is deep blued finish w/ no sign of thinning. Wood shows some gentle handling marks, mostly in the form of light impressions w/ small gouge on bottom left area of grip..
