MEDALIST SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH FACTORY CASE & ACCESSORIES. Cal. 22 LR. S# 47796T72. Bbl. 6 3/4". Medalist semi-automatic pistol mfg. in Belgium and imported/retailed by Browning Arms Company in 1972. Left side of the bbl. is marked with Browning's importer information, with "22 LR. BROWNING PATENTS/ MADE IN BELGIUM" marked on the right. Front grip strap is marked with the S#. Slide features renaissance grade engraved panels of near full coverage foliate scrollwork on a punch dot background, with matching pattern panels present over the top of the bbl., and with foliate scroll motifs present overall. Metal components exhibit a French gray finish overall, save for on the trigger, which features a gold washed finish. 1-piece wood thumb rest grip and schnabel tip "forend" exhibit matching pattern scroll engraving on a punch dot background. V/R with blade front sight and adj. square notch rear sight. MAGS: 1 10-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: factory black leatherette case, containing a factory manual, ammunition block, disassembly tool, as well as target weights. CONDITION: extremely fine, with metal components retaining virtually all of their original factory finishes overall. Brilliant mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Wood furniture is excellent, save for a small area of bubbling and flaking to the varnish on the bottom rear edge of the grip. Case shows light to mild exterior wear from handling and storage, but otherwise remains excellent overall. An extremely attractive example of a renaissance engraved Belgian Browning Medalist pistol.
