FACTORY CASE. Cal. 22 LR. S# 7T63332. Bbl. 19 3/8". SA-22 semi-automatic rifle mfg. in Belgium by Fabrique Nationale and imported/retailed by Browning Arms Company in 1967. Top of the rnd. bbl. is marked with Browning's importer information above "MADE IN BELGIUM", with the S# marked on the underside, and the cal. designation marked on the left towards the breech. Sides of the receiver feature foliate scroll engraving, surmounted by wavy line borders. Underside of trigger guard exhibits a foliate scroll motif. Underside of bolt and left side of bbl. (below wood line) exhibit Belgian commercial proofing. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bolt, which is polished in-the-white. Checkered wood forearm and pistol grip stock with grooved steel buttplate. Dovetailed brass beaded blade front sight with dovetailed flip-up U-notch rear sight. Top of the bbl. and factory drilled and tapped with 2 plug screws for a scope attachment. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: brown leather wrapped browning hard case. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some superficial handling marks, as well as some spots of light wear. Bbl. shows scattered spots / small patches of light oxidative finish loss and pitting. Mirror bore, exhibiting a couple of small spots of light pitting towards the muzzle, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows some superficial marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sound. Case is very good overall. (25-4771/MLW). CURIO. $300-500.
