Cal. 310 Cadet. S# 1. Bbl. 28 3/4". Single-shot, breechloading Martini Cadet-style sporting rifle produced by an unknown mfg. in Belgium. Rifle is virtually unmarked, save for several Belgium proof marks, which are present on the left side of the bbl. at the breech, the left side of the receiver, as well as over the top of the breechblock. Underside of the bbl. is stamped with an encircled "F.L." proof, below the forend. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Finely checkered wood straight grip buttstock and forend, with a grooved steel buttplate. Blade front sight with ladder rear sight. CONDITION: metal components retain fair amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray and brown patinas, with areas of light to mild surface oxidation and pitting present overall. Lever retains a dark gray patina. Fair bore, exhibiting scattered spots of dark pitting while retaining fair to good rifling throughout. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, with a small crack present on the underside of the forearm that stems from the screw escutcheon. (24-6284/MLW). CURIO. $300-500.
