SIDELOCK SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 Ga 2-3/4’’. S# 11216. Pedro Arrizabalaga of Eibar, Spain has made best quality shotguns since 1944 & is considered by many to be the finest of the Spanish makers. Self opening case colored sidelock action. Deep relief game scene engraving features hound & stag on right lock plate w/ hounds & boar on the left. Floorplate pictures a stag & heine. Bolsters show flying ducks & trigger guard shows a deer. Balance of receiver & forearm iron have foliate scroll engraving. Features include double under lug, third bite locking & side clips. Bushed firing pins. Selective ejectors & hinged front trigger. Right edge of trigger guard bow is rolled. Internal lock parts are gold finished. Beavertail forearm w/ Anson release & round knob stock of fancy European walnut having dark marbling. Features include point pattern hand checkering & tear drop points. LOP: altered to 14-5/8’’ over a solid orange London style pad. DAC: 1-3/8’’. DAH: 1-7/8’’. Stock has approx. 1/4’’ cast off. Forcing cones are lengthened in both sets of bbls. Both bbls. are 28’’ w/ hand matted concave solid ribs & steel beads. (Bbl. No. 1) Breech end has gold no. “1”. Bore diameter: RT .731, LT .729. Choke constriction: RT .013, LT .031. Minimum wall thickness: RT .026, LT .035. (Bbl. No. 2) Breech end has gold no. “2”. Bore diameter: RT .721, LT .721. Choke constriction: RT .011, LT .031. Minimum wall thickness: RT .034, LT .035. WEIGHT: 7 lbs, 9.6 ozs. Bbl. date code indicates 1970 mfg. CONDITION: action retains over 95% dark case coloring. Both bbls. retain over 95% original blue & have bright bores. Bbl. no. 1 has small dents in right bbl. 9’’ & 16’’ from muzzle. Original stock finish shows light wear & marks w/ dull touch up finish on butt section. Action is tight & on face. (23-677/DS).
