PICTURED ON PAGE 487 OF "U.S. MILITARY HOLSTERS AND RELATED ACCOUTREMENTS" BY EDWARD SCOTT MEADOWS. The M15 pistol was a customized 1911A1 pistol with shortened slide adopted as standard in 1972. "The Bianchi prototype was one of those submitted. Although it was not officially adopted, the holster was marketed commercially and a number were privately purchase. This black leather rig includes: Bianchi black leather belt marked " 34 36" with 24K gold plated Bianchi General Officer's buckle. / Black leather holster marked "BIANCHI / PROTOTYPE. / Bianchi black leather double magazine pouch. CONDITION: rig in very good near excellent condition showing light wear on interior of belt & light tarnish to buckle. PROVENANCE: The Collection of Edward Scott Meadows. (02-22097/MD). $500-750.
