REVOLVERS MADE FOR THE FIRST BANKERS FRIENDS. Cal. 45 LC. & 44-40. S# FBF-008 (45 LC.) S# 008-FBF (44-40). Limited edition of 45 brace made for First Bankers Friends of Pompano Beach, Florida (a bank holding company). These revolvers were commissioned in 1986 and delivered in 1987. Both are scroll engraved by Ben Shostle of Muncie, Indiana and have gold line accent rings at muzzles and rear of barrels as well as two lines at rears of cylinders. Other gold accents are the First Bankers logo in heavy gold at top of grips and heavy gold inscriptions "THE FIRST BANKERS" on left sides of barrels as well as three flush gold stars on bottoms of butts. Back straps are engraved "First Bankers Corporation of Florida". Guns differ in that the 45 LC has blued smokeless type action, rosewood grips and later style address on barrel. The 44-40 has case hardened black powder pin type frame and walnut grips. Barrel address is of early type. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Revolvers are housed in quartered oak cases marked "THE FIRST BANKERS" on tops along with calibers and "Colt". Cases are lined in red velvet and contain a gold plated cartridge and gold plated First Bankers medal. Also included are correspondence regarding the development, building and sale of these guns and original Colt paperwork and keys. CONDITION: very fine. They do not appear to have been fired, but have some tarnishing of gold on barrels. There are some light handling marks on grips. Cases are very fine with rubs and some white paint. Interior cloth has compressions. Medals are heavily corroded. (23-2240 & 23-2241/MGM). MODERN. $8,000-12,000.
