BY JNO. JONES & CO., LONDON. Cal. 50. NSN. Four 2 1/2" tapered rnd. screw bbls. are marked 1 - 4 on bottoms & have bands of feather engraving at muzzles, which are also cut for star type wrench. Heavy cast brass frame has matching numbers to bbls. along bottom & British style crowned "V" proofs on tops. Bottom is engraved w/ floral & leaf pattern. There is feather engraving on top & sides. Boxlock flint action w/ folding spur trigger features reinforced cock & frizzen w/ external spring. A steel sliding safety engages at half cock & also locks frizzen in closed position. Sides are engraved w/ flags along w/ "JNO JONES & CO." & "LONDON" in ovals. Side of breech section under pan is engraved "No 10". PIstol is fitted w/ simple flat sided walnut bag grip. A rectangular silver crestplate is at top of grip. CONDITION: newly made bbls. & breech section have been artificially aged, but show no wear. Older boxlock, cock & grip show considerable polishing & marks. Mechanically good. This pistol has a great look. (01-20857/MGM). ANTIQUE. $2,500-4,000.
