PISTOL. Cal. 54. NSN. Bbl. 11 7/8" round w/ smoothbore. Top flat of bbl. has Royal British Dragoon marking, the L in royal is raised & the S after the abbreviated Dragoon is raised. Left of center are crown over GR w/ broad arrow mark & Birmingham definitive black powder proof. To the left of that is stamped “IV”. Borderline engraved lock w/ makers name Brice over 1759 date at tail w/ crown over GR & broad arrow markings under the pan. Pin fastened walnut stock w/ relief carving around locks & top tang areas. Brass fittings consist of butt cap, trigger guard, side plate, wrist plate, thimble & single pipe. Wrist plate is marked 6 over 20 (6th soldier, 20th troop). Brass tipped hardwood ramrod. CONDITION: metal has cleaned appearance showing scattered pitting. Stock has added finish over dents & scratches. Forearm tip has small crack on right side. Sound lock. Dark bore. (01-23068/DS).
