RIFLE. Cal. 577/450 Martini. S# A6471. Bbl. 33". Blade front sight. Ladder rear sight graduated to 1300yds. Rifle was updated from short lever to long lever configuration. Right side of action has crown, "VR ENFIELD", 1887 & "IV/1" markings. Left side of bbl. has serial & British proofs. Blued finish. Hardwood stock set with bottom mounted sling swivels. Right side of butt has varied Nepalese markings such as "RP/1908" & a roundel with Nepalese script. CONDITION: stock set has a dark appearance with a few armorer patch repairs, some chips, scattered dings, scratches & handling marks. Bands, nosecap, lever & trigger guard all cleaned to bright with pitting, oxidation & dings. Receiver & bbl. turning gray with strong traces of arsenal blue, edge wear, dings & moderate oxidation. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Good bright bore with some light pitting. (01-27202/MJC). ANTIQUE. $300-500.
