Cal. 70 S# NSN. The 8" octagon barrel having captive ramrod with bridle at front has Enfield markings, military proofs and war department marks on left flat. Standard Enfield percussion lock has crown "VR" at rear, broad arrow at front and center is marked "1859" "ENFIELD". European walnut stock is brass mounted with all mounts having Enfield marks and assembly No. "3". A chain appears original and links steel yoke at front to eye in grip cap. CONDITION: good. Cleaned and refinished. Iron and steel parts are dark gray where not cleaned to silver. Stock has some later marks and dings in its refinish. Bore is dark and pitted. Lock is good.
