Cal. 303 British. S# AC3784. Serial number matches on receiver, bolt, forend, mag. Bbl. 20 5/8" over cone flash hider. Marked on the top left w/ British export proofs. The No. 5 rifle, also known as the "Jungle Carbine" was not a great success because of the wandering zero problem. This example has the correct features, including the lightning cut on the receiver rail, the hollow bolt knob, the deletion of the boss on the right receiver rail & the lightened trigger guard. Adj. aperture rear sight graduated to the correct 800 yards. Blade front sight w/ protective ears mounted in the combination flash hider & bayonet lug assembly. Rifle is marked on left side of butt socket w/ "broad arrow" & "England". Hardwood stock set. Buttplate is equipped w/ correct rubber recoil pad & sling bar. Forend retained by band w/ sling swivel has metal tip. Green web sling dated 1952. MAGS: 1 matching detachable 10 rd. CONDITION: stock set has light wear, scattered handling marks & several notable scratches ahead of trigger guard & on left side. Metal retains 90% of its original black finish w/ light wear.
