WITH AFGHANISTAN IMPORT PAPERS. Cal. .577/.450. NSN. Bbl. 33 1/2". Ladder rear sight graduated to 1300 yards. Stud type front sight. This interesting rifle was obtained in Afghanistan and brought back to the U.S. It did not fall into the definition of a weapon or war trophy, likely due to its age. The receiver is marked on the right side with "crown", "VR" / "ENFIELD" / "1877" / "II". The rifle and its components are marked with numerous "view marks" and "broad arrows". It has the short underlever. The upper band carries the bayonet lug. Replacement cleaning rod. Walnut stock set has only traces of a circular marking on the right side of the butt. Sling swivels appear to be replacements and are carried on the trigger guard and upper band. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: includes a notarized affidavit stating that a permit was not needed for the purpose of introducing this item into the U.S. Also includes DD form 2855 for the U.S. Military Agriculture and Customs Pre Clearance Program. CONDITION: rifle has seen extensive service in a harsh environment and is well worn with extensive handling marks. The metal has been cleaned but is returning to gray and patina. Some parts appear to be local, fabricated replacements. Breech block cannot be fully lowered. Dark, worn, oxidized bore. (01-24636/RW). ANTIQUE. $200-400.
