Cal. 60. NSN. Principal British cavalry pistol during the Napoleonic Wars & the War of 1812. Bbl. 9" round w/ faceted transition to top tang. Left side has 2 British proof marks. “TOWER” marked lock has crown over “GR” & broad arrow marking forward of hammer. Wedge fastened stock. Left ear is stamped “RC” w/ 2 opposing triangular marks. Brass fittings butt cap, trigger guard, side plate & nose cap. Trigger guard is stamped no. “6”. Button tipped iron swivel ramrod. CONDITION: metal has faded gray brown appearance showing some corrosion & handling marks. Stock shows dents & marks w/ small cracks in lock side plate & forearm areas. Sound lock. Bore shows scattered pitting. (01-23053/DS). ANTIQUE. $1,200-1,800.
