MARKED DUBLIN CASTLE. Cal. 80. NSN. Bbl. 42 1/8". The barrel has a small lug sight near the muzzle and two incised bands at the bolster. There are proof marks on the top of the barrel that are barely legible. The lock has a crowned "GR" in front of the cock and "DUBLIN CASTLE" to the rear of the cock. Brass trigger guard plate, flat sideplate, entry thimble, ramrod thimbles, and nose cap. Iron ramrod. Original heavy wood stock. CONDITION: all iron parts have a very dark aging patina. The lock functions well and holds both full and half cock. Brass has a deep brown patina. The stock has numerous dents and dings with periodic losses around the barrel channel. The front 2 1/2" of the stock has a spliced repair and there are 2 tight cracks emanating from the front sideplate to the barrel channel. Fair bore, would benefit from a vigorous cleaning. (01-26170/BF). ANTIQUE. $4,000-6,000.
