SMOOTH. Cal. 60. S# NSN. The 39-1/4" barrel with British proofs at left rear has been bored smooth and long range rifle sight removed. Front spring lock is marked "1862" and "TOWER" at center and has Imperial Crown on tail. Walnut stock has brass buttplate stamped "65" and unmarked brass trigger guard with sling loop. Stock attaches to barrel with three screw clamp iron bands and has brass tip. Correct ramrod is present. Side panel is stamped "J.H. BOND" (?). CONDITION: fair. Iron parts cleaned to silver gray with considerble pitting at breech area. Brass shows polishing. Wood refinished with dark marks and dings remaining. Smooth bore is fairly shiny with scattered pitting. Lock is good. (01-25575/MGM). ANTIQUE. $600-900.
