Cal. .577. S# NSN. Standard configuration with 39" barrel has British proofs at left rear and fitted with long range ladder type sight. Front spring lock is marked "BARNETT" "LONDON" and has double line engraved borders. Walnut stock has brass trigger guard and buttplate. Right side is carved "J.P.H. 1906" left is carved "JW". Stock attaches to barrel with three screw clamp iron bands and correct iron ramrod is present. CONDITION: fair to good. Iron parts mostly brown patina with light cleaning showing pin prick pitting. Stock shows heavy cleaning and sanding in an attempt to remove marks on butt. Bore is poor; rifling evident. Lock is operable. Many of these firearms were supplied to the Confederacy. (01-25583/MGM).
