SADDLE RING CARBINE. Cal. 45-75 WCF. S# 24166. Bbl. 22" rnd. Bbl. has a series of 3 British proof and view marks on the left side with an additional view mark on the receiver. Fixed front sight with reverse mounted added folding leaf express rear sight. Full length band fastened carbine forearm with straight grip walnut stock having a steel trapdoor carbine buttplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Cody Firearms Museum letter stating "Type: Carbine/ Received in warehouse June 29, 1882/ Shipped from warehouse on July 31, 1882, Order number 24116". CONDITION: bbl. and action retain 90% reblued finish showing scattered light handling marks. Receiver retains significant amounts of remaining light pitting. Hammer is cleaned bright. Refinished wood shows scratches and marks. Buttplate shows a slight bend in its mid-section. Stock is chipped and undersized around top tang. Sound action. Bore is generally bright with strong rifling showing some light pitting. (01-27259/DS). ANTIQUE. $3,000-4,000.
