Cal. 45. NSN. Bbl. 2 91/6". Screw bbl. flintlock pistol produced by an unknown mfg. in England. Right side of the frame is engraved with a panoply of arms, with the left sideplate exhibiting a mostly illegible mfg. marking. Underside of frame is stamped with British Crown/P and Crown/V proofing. 1-piece rnd. butt smooth wood grip with silver oval escutcheon on rear of wrist. CONDITION: metal components have been cleaned at one time, exhibiting a gray patina, with scattered marks and pitting present overall. Engraving has been notably softened. Bore exhibits consistent light pitting, with patches of mild pitting. Lock holds in half and full cock. Upper receiver tang screw is absent. Stock shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but is otherwise sound. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Nicholas Apergis. (01-27527/MLW). ANTIQUE. $200-400.
