Cal. 577 Snider. NSN. Bbl. 19 1/2". Top of frame marked "III". Left side of frame & bbl. marked w/ various British inspection stamps. Right rear of bbl. marked "R173. Lock marked w/ British crown/"VR" at rear & 1870/"ENFIELD" at front. Ladder rear sight graduated to 600yds. Blade front sight. Walnut stock w/ saddle ring on lower tang. Top of buttplate marked "N.W.M.P." likely for Canadian Northwest Mounted Police. Left rear of butt has a plug marked "M.C.P". Left stock flat marked "GDB". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: leather rear sight cover, cleaning rod & ramrod present in buttplate trap. CONDITION: walnut stock has arsenal reworked appearance w/ plugged hole at toe, scattered dings, handling marks & a few gouges .Brass trigger guard, recoil bolts & buttplate are a dull yellow patina w/ some dings & oxidation staining. Breechblock, hammer & lock retain strong amounts of case colors w/ breechblock fading to gray, some scattered light dings & oxidation staining. Blued bbl. & band retain 60% arsenal blue w/ edge wear, some light dings & light oxidation. Good bore w/ some scattered oxidation but strong rifling. (01-21736/MJC). ANTIQUE. $400-600.
