MILITARY DRILL PURPOSE RIFLE. Cal. 303 British. S# 35195. Numbers match on bolt, receiver & rear sight ladder. Bbl. 26". Rifle was converted to drill purpose by the addition of a transverse cross-pin through the chamber. Cross-pin has been removed & the bbl. shoulder at the receiver ring has been lathe-turned likely for the purpose of removing the bbl. from the rifle. The bolt marked "DP" on the handle appears to be fully functional. Rifle should be considered unsafe. Receiver ring is marked on top "DP". Walnut stock set. Marking disc hole has been plugged on right side of butt. Butt is marked "DP". Volley sights have been removed. Sight base is present on left side of forend. CONDITION: stock set has well-worn original finish w/ staining & numerous handling marks. Metal retains 60% of its original finish w/ wear & scattered small handling marks. Bore is worn, but shiny.
