ACTION REVOLVER. Cal. 455. S# 323598. Bbl. 6". Mark VI double action revolver mfg. by Webley in 1917. Left side of the frame is marked "WEBLEY/ MARK VI/ PATENT/ 1917", with "MARK VI" marked on the left side of the top strap. Various British proofs are present overall. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered brown Vulcanite grips. Pinned blade front sight, with U-notch rear sight on bbl. latch. Rear face of cyl. has been shaved to accommodate .45 ACP ammunition in moon clips. Lanyard ring on butt has been ground down. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, bbl., as well as the cyl. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina, some scattered superficial handling marks, as well as some scattered spots of light surface oxidation. Mirror bore, exhibiting some spots of what appears to be light to mild oxidation and pitting towards the muzzle, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show smoothing, as well as scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (25-2372/MLW). CURIO. $400-800.
