REVOLVER. Cal. 38 S&W. S# 8018; the serial number matches on frame, bbl., and cyl. Frame is marked on the right side with "DI" and two stars—this being the wartime Enfield marking, and additionally marked "ENGLAND" as a 1950s vintage US import mark. Bbl. 5", marked on top with "CAL. 38" (broad arrow) 44" with a view mark. Bbl. is marked on the left side with "(crown) BNP" proof ".38 767 3 1/2 TONS". The six-shot cyl. has proof marks and "SPT. 41." The revolver is made as double-action only, without a hammer spur, by request of the Royal Tank Regiment. Fixed sights. Black composite grips with correct thumb grooves. Lanyard ring on the butt. CONDITION: Metal retains 80% of its original wartime matte blue finish, with light wear and handling marks. Grips have moderate wear, scratches, and handling marks. Bore is shiny with lightly worn lands. (24-6766/RW). CURIO. $300-400.
