Steel construction. Utilized to place the rounds in a fabric belt in precisely the right position for feeding. The model 1918 saw heavy use for all models of the 30 cal. Browning MG's. This early design utilizes needles to open the fabric belt pockets so the cartridge would be properly positioned. Later & more common versions utilized a shuttle for this purpose. Marked "BROWNING BELT FILLING MACHINE MODEL OF 1918". Currently mounted on 7"x23" board. CONDITION: the belt loading machine appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. All moving parts are fluid & smooth. (02-18109-6/JZ). $600-1,000.
