GUN ENGRAVED BY LOUIS ACAMPO WITH ORIGINAL CASE & TUBE SET. Cal. 12 Ga. 2-3/4". S# 49977S6 (1966). Top of the line Browning, this gun has 28" barrels fitted with narrow matted ventilated rib. Top barrel is marked with Browning, St. Louis & Montreal addresses, patent and chamber info and "MADE IN BELGIUM". Rear portion of barrels and ejector housings are engraved with well cut open shaded scroll. Blued Browning Superposed action with gold plated single selective trigger is engraved in classic Midas grade style as originated by chief engraver Louis Vrancken; with gold inlaid pheasant on left and ducks on right side within swept and looping gold borders, all within a field of large open acanthus scroll. This gun is actually engraved by the very accomplished Louis Acampo with delicate shading of the clean cut scroll and fine attention to the detail of the birds and their backgrounds. His signature "LA" appears at the bottom rear on both sides of action. Another fine example of his work is present in the gold quail flying across the bottom of the action. Long tang round knob buttstock of crotch figured Claro walnut measures 14-1/2" over brown Browning pad. Fancy pattern double line border checkering with flourishes into butt wraps over top of grip.
