BY E. KONIG. Cal. 8.15X46R. NSN. Bbl. 31" octagonal retains adj. rear sight mounted on integral dovetail. Top of bbl. engraved "E. Konig, Sorau N.L.". Rear portion marked "PRIMA WITTENER STAHL". Buchel patent action w/ removable trigger assembly has hard rubber Buchel marked finger lever grips. Action is engraved w/ 80% coverage shaded acanthus scroll surrounding inset oval silver inlays depicting Germanic hunter on each side. Top of action is silver inlaid "BUCHEL" "MEISTER" "D.R.G.M.". Original diopter, tang sight is retained & rifle features dbl. set triggers. Schuetzen style stock of relatively plain European walnut has heavy steel single pronged "Schuetzen" buttplate & features high sculpted right hand cheekpiece mirrored by carved volute on right side of stock along w/ thumbrest. Checkering is of fancy pattern, matching very plain slightly schnabled forend (uncheckered) attaches to bbl. w/ sidebolt through oval steel escutcheons. CONDITION: fine as refinished. Bbl. w/ nearly all of an old reblack over some scratches & bumps. Action recase colored w/ some subsequent wear. Gutta percha handles are somewhat worn. Stocks retain nearly all their oil refinish, sharp edges rounded. Checkering lightly worn & soiled. Shiny bore w/ strong rifling. (20-2256/MGM65). MODERN. $1,000-2,000.
