Cal. 5.56mm. S# P02677. Bbl. 22". Manufactured 1993-2005. The M17S is one of the first American Made Bullpup designs marketed for the commercial firearms market. The M17S was conceived in Austria, destined for their military trials, before their focus turned to commercial sales. After being extensively modified from the original design, a relationship was forged w/ Bushmaster Firearms where it would be marketed to the American commercial gun industry. The operating system is very similar to the AR-18 / AR-180. It utilizes a short stroke gas piston system, dual guide rods & the familiar rorating bolt. Construction is primarily an extruded aluminum receiver & Zytel glass-filled nylon. The design lends itself to being easy to handle & transport w/ its short 31.5" overall length, while employing a 22" barrel for rifle ballistic properties. Typical of a bullpup design, the magazine is rear of the trigger, as well as the majority of controls. The barrel is threaded w/ an A1 style flash hider. A carry handle, similar in shape to the familiar AR-15 style, sits above the receiver, allowing the option of mounting optics above it on included 5" Weaver style base. The firearm is charged by retracting the rear of the carry handle where it is concealed within. Sling swivels on bottom, front & rear. MAGS: 1 Thermold 30 rd. CONDITION: Finish coverage complete & consistent. Very little evidence of prior use aside from a small area on bottom, between mag-well & pistol grip that has been roughed up w/ a "5" or "S" in the center. Bore is bright w/ strong rifling. Fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. (25-2276/JZ). MODERN. $600-1,000.
