Cal. 36. S# 217. Bbl. 4 1/2", octagon with replacement brass blade front sight. Five-shot, fluted cyl. Solid frame design with loading lever, spur trigger, hump shaped backstrap, and curved, center-mounted hammer. Standard model without safety device on frame. Two-piece walnut grips. About 500 mfg. 1862-63. CONDITION: action finish has faded to brown, showing spotted corrosion. Bbl. is cleaned bright, retaining spotted corrosion and light pitting. Action functions; cyl. does not lock tightly. Nipples are heavily beat down from dry-firing. Grips show heavy wear and handling marks with chips at butt. Lightly pitted bore with intact rifling.
