This helmet is of classic WWI “doughboy” style with a camouflage painted finish in green, brown, tan, mustard, & gray. There is a screw attachment at the crown of the helmet. The interior right side is painted “2/2 no CCS” in red paint. This is believed to stand for “Canadian Corps of Signals”. Rubberized liner & khaki cotton elastic chinstrap. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: a letter dated “October 13, 1993” identifying the helmet as possibly Canadian Corps of Signals. CONDITION: helmet finish is nearly 100%. Liner shows light wear. PROVENANCE: From the Lifelong Collection of Glen E. Mattox. (02-18921/BF). $200-400.
