GAME GUN WITH CASE. Cal. 12 Ga. 2-3/4". S#. C13075B (1991). This attractive near top of the line Beretta features 28" mono-block fixed choke barrels with wide matted ventilated rib. "P. Beretta-ITALY" is on left side of barrel. Bottom of mono-block is stamped with grade, S# and 1991 Italian nitro proofs. Coin finished sidelock low profile action with Beretta's proven locking system features gold plated single selective trigger, with non-automatic safety, detachable sidelocks with levers on right side and double beaded trigger guard. Action and lockplates are engraved with full coverage, well laid out and executed, semi-relief large open flowing acanthus scroll with attractively shaded backgrounds. This fine scroll surrounds oval vignettes of bird scenes with major subjects relief inlaid in gold. Backgrounds have fine Bulino detail. A cock pheasant rises from meadow with tree in background on bottom. A pair of pintails rise from a marsh on left sidelock and a pair of mallards are settling in to some cattails on right lockplate. Pierced top lever is gold inlaid with a sovereign's crown. Engraver's signature "D. Candito" is on trigger plate. Trigger guard is engraved with matching scroll and has grade engraved in scroll on tang. Straight grip buttstock made of attractively marbled and lightly figured European walnut measures 14-3/4" over fully checkered wood butt. Point pattern checkering is at grip. Matching one piece full forend has Deeley type release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: O .723. U .727. Restriction: O .036 (full). U .004 (mod). Wall thickness: O .036. U .031. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: gun is housed in its original dark brown leather case with leather corners by Nizzoli which has leather trimmed canvas outer cover. Interior is lined in olive green felt and has brown Beretta label stitched in lid. Bottom compartment is semi-French fitted and contains three piece walnut and brass cleaning rod, brushes etc in black wallet and two plastic snap caps marked "PB" and a Beretta bench cloth. CONDITION: exceptionally fine with scant evidence of ever being fired since proof. Retaining essentially all factory finishes on wood and metal with only a few very minor, scattered handling and assembly marks. Bores are bright and shiny; mechanically crisp. Case is also very fine however, there are marks and compressions on leather. Outer cover is fine as is interior and accessories. This fine gun presently retails at about $80,000. (25-942/MGM).
