COMMEMORATIVE SEMI-AUTOMATIC SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 Ga., 2 3/4". S# 2,000,000-1,782. Bbl. 27 5/8". 1 of only 2,500 commemorative Model A5 "Light Twelve" shotguns manufactured in Belgium by FN and imported/retailed by Browning Arms Company. The left side of the barrel is marked with Browning's importer information above "MADE IN BELGIUM", with the right side exhibiting the caliber designation. The left side of the receiver exhibits light scroll and wavy line factory engraving and is marked "Light Twelve" above a gold side portrait of John Browning and his signature. Right side of receiver exhibits matching pattern engraving with "BROWNING/ 2,000,000-11782" in gold within a gold oval. Metal components exhibit a lustrous high polish blue finish, with the trigger being gold plated. Fancy checkered wood pistol grip buttstock and checkered wood forend with grasping grooves. Matte vented rib barrel with ivory bead front sight. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: black leatherette case with a brass plaque reading "2,000,000TH/ John M Browning/ COMMEMORATIVE/ MODEL/ BROWNING AUTOMATIC SHOTGUN" and containing a small commemorative book detailing John Browning's career. CONDITION: extremely fine, with metal components retaining bountiful amounts of their original factory blue finish, showing few discernible signs of extensive handling overall. Brilliant mirror bore. Wood furniture is excellent, with the stock showing a few small marks on the underside of the butt and grip. Case shows some marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. An extremely fine example, that one would find difficult to upgrade from.
