MODEL PERCUSSION REVOLVER. Cal. 31. S# 197749. Bbl. 5”. Standard configuration of 1862 manufactured Colt pocket, 5” barrel with 2-line Hartford address, small “COLT’S / PATENT” right side of frame. Frame, barrel, & grip straps factory engraved with Gustav Young style scrolls terminating in flowers and a “hounds head” of left side of barrel housing, varnished burl walnut grips. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Dark green baize lined compartmented mahogany casing has silver plated eagle flask, 2-cavity “Colt’s Patent” iron mold, loose rounds, & cap tin, key. CONDITION: Revolver is very good overall, no finish, number match with exception of cylinder which is “7633”, mostly discernible rolled “Stagecoach Holdup” scene. Engraving & markings good, grips retain traces of original varnish. Casing hinges both missing screws to bottom, so lid is loose, key escutcheon is missing. Mold is pitted and fair, flask is very good, key does not function. Good rifled bore & mechanics are fine. (01-22975/JS). ANTIQUE. $3,000-4,000.
