Cal. 36. S# 135469. Bbl. 6". Standard Model 1849 w/ desirable 6" bbl., silver plated w/ an original Colt casing & accessories. This gun presents nicely w/ their original factory elephant ivory grips. This revolver was made in 1857. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: accompanying casing heavily soiled w/ several small breaks in compartments. 2 cavity Colt patent brass mold is very good w/ medium mustard patina. Nipple wrench very good w/ finish. 2 Later cap tins & reproduction eagle flask. Functional key for case, however locking tongue is broken. CONDITION: very good to fine overall as refinished, retaining most of an old silver finish. Rolled stage coach hold up scene is mostly discernable w/ 3 crisp safety pins. Ivory grips slightly undersized w/ good aged patina. Mechanically fine w/ crisp rifled bore w/ pitting. PROVENANCE: From the Collection of James B. Taylor. (01-20455/JS). ANTIQUE. $2,500-3,500.
