Cal. 36. S# 27053. Bbl. 7 1/2" round with New York address. German silver blade front sight. Round 6 shot cyl. has naval engagement roll engraving. Blue & case colored finish. Silver finished trigger guard & backstrap. 1 Piece ivory grips. Barrel, frame, grip straps, cyl & wedge have matching numbers. Mfg. 1865. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: added contemporary hardwood casing with brass rectangular nameplate on lid. Segmented interior with green cloth lining that shows wear. Case contains "Colt's Patent" marked Naval sized flask with Patriotic themed ornamentation. Flask has acquired a dark patina & shows light dents. Also included is a 2 cavity brass mold, turnscrew, bullets, round balls, cap tin, replacement screws & case key. Chip from toe of right grip panel is safely stored in the case. CONDITION: very good. Bbl. retains 40% lightly faded blue in protected areas fading to gray showing scattered corrosion with small dents in wedge area. Cyl. has faded to gray showing spots of light corrosion & 90% Naval scene. Frames & sides of hammer show faint traces of case colors. Grip straps show small amounts of silver in protected areas acquiring dark tarnish around trigger guard bow. Grips are slightly undersized with pronounced age related yellowing having grain checking at butt. Right panel is chipped at toe. Sound action. Lightly pitted bore retains strong rifling.
