REVOLVER. Cal. 31. S# 4119. Bbl. 4" octagon w/ London address. Round five shot cyl. w/ stagecoach scene roll engraving. Cyl. & left side of bbl. have British proofs. Frame, bbl., grip straps, loading lever & hammer have vine type scroll factory engraving. Fish head engraved hammer. Full silver finish. Bbl., frame, grip straps, cyl. & wedge have matching numbers. The dot below the S#s denote factory silver finish. 1 Piece fancy walnut grip w/ German silver presentation plates in both sides. Left side is engraved “to Chief Brown”. Right side is engraved “New York City”. Serial number to grips does not match the rest of the revolver, Grips S# 71786. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: presentation Colt English oak casing w/ circular brass medallion in lid. Inside of lid has paper label w/ loading & cleaning directions. Red cloth fitted interior shows fading & wear. Case contains powder flask, 2 cavity mold, nipple wrench, slotted tip cleaning rod, cap tin, case key & bullets. CONDITION: silver finish remains bright on grip straps, bolsters & other protected areas w/ balance having a gray appearance. Grips show light wear. Very good mechanics. Lightly pitted bore retains strong rifling. (01-22853/JB). ANTIQUE. $3,000-4,000.
