REVOLVER WITH IVORY GRIPS. Cal. 36. S# 13027. 7.75" tapered octagonal barrel engraved in block letters: "ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW YORK CITY". Barrel markings not by Colt, and neither are "COLTS PATENT" on cylinder. Frame, recoil shields, trigger bow, and backstrap are rococo engraved. Mounted with pair of smooth walrus ivory 2-piece grips. Grip strap has "RP" stamped internally as does face of cylinder possibly representing the Liege maker. Externally one small European proof with crown is observed on the left barrel lug. Revolver is housed in green velvet lined compartmented casing open known vintage with brass sporting flask, reproduction combination tool, reproduction 2 cavity brass mold, and Navy Arms cap tin. CONDITION: good overall. Revolver has all matching serial numbers, and appears complete with exception of replaced loading arm screw. Left grip has two crack repairs. Mechanically functional with clean smooth bore. PROVENANCE: Collection of Horst Kreiner. (01-24022/JS). $800-1,200.
