PERCUSSION REVOLVER. 54 bore (44cal). S# 30532R. 12.5” overall with 5.5” barrel engraved “Robert Adams 76 King William Street London”. These large bore army revolvers were popular among military officers worldwide. There are several with known Confederate use including SN 30377R captured at Stony creek and 2 identified belonging to 18th VA cavalrymen SN 36604 & 36609. Pistol is housed in green baize lined English Walnut casing. CONDITION: fine overall, complete & original, 50% engraving on frame, retains about 80% blue finish, mechanics fine, crisp bright rifled bore. Casing sound, lining soiled, accompanying flask, oiler, and cap tin are good. Case missing lock escutcheon. (01-21778/JS). ANTIQUE. $2,500-3,500.
