PISTOL. Cal. 10mm. NSN. Pietro Venditti patented this close facsimile of the American Volcanic pistol in Italy in 1872. He made his own rocket ball ammunition for his 1st model but soon updated to 2nd model metallic cartridge pistol. Standard configuration with 6.75" octagonal browned barrel engraved on the top-flat with floral scrolls and "SISTEMA VENDITTI", integral 10-shot magazine below the barrel, same Volcanic style rotating loading sleeve at muzzle, brass frame with iron side plates, florally engraved and silver plated, finger-ring lever forming the trigger guard, checkered burl walnut bag-shaped grips with lanyard ring at butt. French fitted dark purple velvet lined mahogany casing fitted for pistol, screw driver, 2-piece wood & brass cleaning tool. CONDITION: very good to fine overall as refinished, retaining most of its original silver plate, barrel is re-browned with freshened engraving. Mechanics fine including intricate 2 prong extractor are functional, shiny rifled bore. Casing & accessories are very good. (01-26756/JS). ANTIQUE. $3,000-5,000.
