AMERICAN RITUAL DANCE. Last quarter 19th century. Watercolor on paper depicts Native Americans dancing in front of a fire with some dancer's impersonating a wolf in wolf's pelt; all within a lodge with onlookers. Housed in modern figural oak frame, matted under glass. Questroyal Gallery label on verso together with a typed artist biography with references, exhibitions, etc. NOTE: this painting #24 on estate inventory acquired by Woodrow Wilson Fine Arts Inc. from the estate of Thomas Adams (the artist's son). SIZE: overall 15" x 22", sight 6 1/2" x 14". CONDITION: original condition with overall light toning, pin holes at each corner and slight abrasion upper left corner facing.
